Moona a Space for Change

The next chapter of Israel's success story will be written not only in its innovation centers, but in the communities that have too often been left outside them.

Despite its reputation as the Start-Up Nation, significant gaps remain between Israel's innovation centers and many communities in its geographic and social periphery. For decades, these regions have experienced lower participation in STEM studies and fewer pathways into the technology economy. Today, many are also confronting the challenges of post-war recovery and renewal.

At the same time, the global economy is being transformed by advances in technology, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and innovation. Those countries that will thrive in the coming century will be those able to cultivate innovative and technological talent across their entire populations.

Moona was created to help meet this challenge.

Moona works with local and regional councils to create Regional STEM Excellence Ecosystems—centralized educational and training infrastructures designed to strengthen STEM pathways across entire localities and regions. Through a network of Regional STEM Excellence Centers, Moona coordinates local STEM ecosystems, connecting schools, municipalities, educators, employers, government ministries, and community partners into a coherent framework spanning elementary-school exposure programs, after-school learning, teacher training, robotics and innovation initiatives, STEM electives, advanced technological training, and employment opportunities.

Each Center also serves as a physical hub, providing laboratories, maker spaces, robotics facilities, and innovation environments where students learn by building, designing, experimenting, and creating.

Today, this model operates across the Northeastern Galilee (Hatzor HaGlilit), Western Galilee (Matte Asher/Shlomi), Central Galilee (Majd Al Kurum), Upper Triangle (Umm el Fahm), and Lower Triangle (Kfar Qassem).

By strengthening local STEM ecosystems, Moona is helping communities build resilience, expand economic opportunity, and prepare Israel's next generation of innovators, engineers, entrepreneurs, and problem-solvers.
