Help Rimon Heal

Rimon and Yagev Buchshtab were newly married with a life of music and wonder together ahead of them. They lived on Kibbutz Nirim, where they sheltered abandoned animals and tended a flourishing garden, creating a safe, beautiful and loving home for each other. On the day the world fell apart, October 7, 2023, Rimon and Yagev were brutally attacked and kidnapped from their home. For many long and agonizing weeks, they were held hostage in Gaza, enduring unimaginable fear and injury. Despite attempts to separate the couple, Rimon held on to Yagev, refusing to let him go. Rimon was released on November 28th. Yagev was murdered by his capturers. His body was recovered by the IDF on August 20th, 2024. Rimon’s journey now is one of recovery and healing, without her husband by her side. She must rebuild her life and her home on her own. She has moved to a small house in the Western Negev with the beloved dogs and cats she previously adopted with Yagev, where she has started to transform an overgrown plot of land into a beautiful garden. Working the land and caring for her animals helps her process the overwhelming loss of her husband and the trauma of captivity. Although her spirit is strong and her determination is steadfast, it is a long and arduous road ahead for Rimon.
