Hi, I’m Omer.

I am 36 years old, partner to Liat, and father to three-year-old Yoni, the love of my life.

I was born and raised in Maccabim-Re'ut by loving parents, alongside a brother and sister. I am a people person, someone who loves hugs and good conversations, and it’s no coincidence that my friends call me "Winnie the Pooh." I am a Chelsea fan at heart, and I love animals, nature, simplicity, music, dancing, and festivals. I am naturally curious - I love to learn, explore, and discover new things about the world and about myself.

For years, I served as an F-16 combat navigator and later in meaningful roles within the Israeli Air Force. During my work as a product manager in the Air Force, I was awarded the Israel Defense Prize for my contribution to the development of advanced systems. In addition to my professional endeavors, I have always had a deep love for learning and science. I completed a degree in Economics and Management, followed by a degree in Chemistry and Biology with highest honors (summa cum laude), and was slated to continue directly into a Ph.D. track.

But at age 31, my life took a turn I could never have imagined.

Around that time, I met Liat and we fell in love. Just six months later, at the end of 2021, I was diagnosed with astrocytoma, a cancerous brain tumor.

Suddenly, alongside the beginning of our shared life, cancer, brain surgeries, and immense uncertainty entered the picture. Yet we decided that we would not let fear dictate what our lives would look like.

We got married and brought our wonderful Yoni into the world. We built a family within a reality where we didn’t always know what tomorrow would bring.

Since the diagnosis, I have undergone two brain surgeries and various treatments. The challenge is that the tumor is intertwined with healthy brain tissue, making treatment exceptionally complex. Even amid all this, I continued studying, completed my degree while going through treatments and rehabilitation, and as long as I could, continued contributing in impactful ways in the Air Force, including during the Swords of Iron war.

Today, my tumor is active and continues to grow. At this stage, I am dedicating my time and energy to my health and treatments, driven by the belief that healing is possible.

Following an extensive search in Israel and abroad, I recently began personalized immunotherapy in Europe, aimed at harnessing the immune system to fight the tumor. Concurrently, we continue to seek and integrate additional medical avenues that may halt the disease’s progression and lead to recovery.

However, we have reached a point where we cannot do this alone.

The overall cost of the treatments reaches approximately $400,000 a year - an amount that we, as a family, cannot bear. That is why I am asking for your help.

Amid all the struggles, the tests, and the treatments, what I am asking for is actually quite simple - I want more time.

I want to watch Yoni grow up. To be her father not only now, but in five, ten, and twenty years.

I want to continue my life with Liat. We dream of expanding our family, moving from Tel Aviv to a place closer to nature, building our life together there, and simply continuing to live life to the fullest.

I believe in healing, and I want to do everything in my power to reach it. To continue on this path, I need your help.

Thank you for listening, for walking alongside us, for your support, and for partnering with us on our journey.
