Mishpaha - Strength Through Orphanhood

Mishpaha is an Israeli non-profit organization dedicated to creating long-term, systemic change for orphaned children and young adults in Israel. The organization operates from a holistic perspective, viewing orphanhood not as a single event, but as an ongoing life condition requiring emotional, social, educational, and structural support over time.

The organization was founded by Dalalin Destao, himself orphaned from the age of two, who immigrated to Israel with his uncle at the age of twelve, a Captain in the Israel Defense Forces reserves and the author of the book "Running for Long Distances", a social entrepreneur driven by a deep personal and public commitment to ensure that no child is left alone in the struggle.

Tens of thousands of children in Israel grow up without a parental safety net. Mishpaha exists to ensure that no child is left behind and to build a supportive ecosystem for an entire generation.
