Home by the Sea is an Israeli nonprofit that uses the power of the sea to help individuals and families rebuild strength, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Through surfing, adapted sea activities, professional group processes, and long term communities, we create a place where people can rediscover what they are capable of and where families can find others who truly understand what they are going through.

What makes our approach different is that we do not focus only on the individual.

We work with the entire family.

Because when one person is affected by trauma, loss, captivity, or a life changing injury, the whole family is affected too.

Who Needs Us Most Today:

1. Bereaved Families- We bring together families living with profound loss and create a community where they can find connection, strength, and people who understand their reality without explanation.
2. Families of Returned Hostages- Coming home is only the beginning.

We support families as they rebuild connection, stability, and everyday life after captivity, surrounded by others who understand the complexity of that journey.

1. Severely Wounded IDF Soldiers and Their Families- We work with IDF soldiers who sustained some of the most severe traumatic brain injuries of the war. Many now face years of complex rehabilitation, together with families whose lives changed overnight.

Through specially adapted sea activities and professional support, we create moments of capability, connection, and freedom, while making sure their families are part of the journey.

Since 2020, Home by the Sea has reached more than 9,500 people across four coastal centers in Israel.

But today, more families are waiting to join our communities than we can currently serve.
