The Ran (Rani) Gvili Pre-Military Leadership Academy: In Memory of the Last Hostage

On the morning of October 7th, Rani didn’t wait for a order.

As a fighter in the Yasam unit, he was among the first to grasp the gravity of the moment and rush into the line of fire. He fought heroically at Kibbutz Alumim, standing as a human shield for the residents and remaining on the front lines until the very last moment. Rani fell in battle, and his body was abducted to Gaza.

For months, he remained there, until he became the last hostage to be brought home.

Rani was a man of profound values - a true leader with an uncompromising love for his country. He believed in education, in action, and in taking responsibility. The return of the last hostage now signals the beginning of a new mission.

His family and loved ones are establishing the Pre-Military Leadership Academy in his memory. This institution will train the next generation of leaders in the spirit of the values that guided him: courage, humility, and an absolute commitment to the People of Israel.
