In memory of Itay's Light
Itay was born in Netanya in 2004, played basketball, fell in love with the Boston Celtics, and planned to travel the world with his girlfriend after completing his military service.
Like many of his peers, Itay enlisted the IDF with pride and commitment to serve his country.
On October 7th, 2023, while serving in Nahal Oz, Itay and his team were among the first responders who tried to stop Hamas’ brutal terror attack. On that day, Itay was murdered, and his body was taken into Gaza.
For 760 days, Itay’s parents, Ruby and Hagit, worked tirelessly in Israel and around the world to bring him - and all the hostages - home.
On November 4th, 2025, Itay was finally returned home, to Israel.
The family was forced to confront their unimaginable pain and chose a path of action: honoring Itay’s memory and continuing the fight for the remaining hostages.
Since October 7th, the family has carried an immense emotional and financial burden. Both parents are self-employed and have been struggling continuously.
Today, the family is asking for the public’s support to continue their mission: to raise awareness and advocate for the return of the hostages, to preserve Itay’s legacy, and to help the family meet their basic needs during this difficult time.
We invite you to join us. Donate and help continue Itay’s legacy.
